An idea from Xunzi

Confusion about what words actually mean is not a small, technical annoyance. Once “loyal” or “fair” can mean whatever whoever’s talking wants it to mean, courts cannot rule consistently, neighbors cannot trust each other’s promises, and a government cannot even describe what it’s doing wrong.
