An idea from Hagakure

An old doctor claimed that in 50 years men’s pulse had become the same as women’s, which proved men had gone soft. The retired retainer repeating the story agrees and sees weak men everywhere. He was born in 1659, after Japan’s wars had ended, and never fought in a battle.
